Por tanto, la finalidad del Consejo Asesor de Pacientes y Ciudadanos no es otra que avanzar en la mejora de la relación de los pacientes y familiares con el hospital, actuando como una herramienta que sirva para incrementar la calidad de los servicios sanitarios, fomentando los niveles de participación y creación de circuitos y procesos, facilitando a los pacientes y familiares información de su interés.
“La necesidad de incorporar a nuestras instituciones el potencial que el paciente aporta como usuario del sistema, debe contemplarse en un órgano en el que la dirección del centro esté representada con el fin de dar viabilidad a aquellas propuestas que mejoren la calidad de los cuidados que reciben los pacientes, la información que desde el centro sanitario facilitamos y difundimos, los canales de comunicación bidireccionales entre el centro y los ciudadanos, o cualquier otro aspecto que mejore la relación con el hospital y los profesionales o la calidad de vida de los pacientes y de los servicios sanitarios prestados”, recuerda Ricardo Trujillo.
