AMDEA se suma a la celebración hoy, 20 de octubre, del DÍA NACIONAL DE LA ESPONDILITIS.
EDEPA (Enfermos de Espondilitis y Artritis Parleños Asociados), en este aniversario, deseamos expresar, concienciar y ofrecer una mayor difusión, de la que hasta el momento existe entre la población española, por entender que el problema reumático afecta a muchas personas a los largo de nuestra vida, siendo cada vez de mayor juventud el comienzo de la enfermedad y con más necesidad de precoz diagnostico.
En España se estima que hay más de 500.000 personas que padecen algún tipo de espondiloartropatía, en concreto la espondilitis la padecen unas 200.000 personas de las que 25.000 son de Madrid. La incidencia de la espondilitis se estima entorno a 7 nuevos casos por cada 100000 Hab./año. En Europa la prevalencia de la EA es de 0,3 al 1,3% lo que equivaldría a la presencia de al menos medio millón de afectos de EA en España.
Por esta razón, con motivo del Día Nacional de la Espondilitis, la Coordinadora Española de Asociaciones de Espondilitis, CEADE ha ampliado su decálogo de reivindicaciones. Sabemos que la crisis económica puede afectar al acceso de los tratamientos de estos pacientes y en este sentido CEADE, defenderá los derechos de los pacientes ante posibles indefensiones. Hemos avanzado mucho en los tratamientos pero reclamamos mayor inversión en Investigación para conseguir avanzar hasta la posible cura de esta y otras enfermedades autoinmunes.
El acto principal de EDEPA, se basara en realizar este día una campaña divulgativa y de información para concienciar este problema social y familiar, además de personal en todos los medios de prensa y comunicación que estén a su alcance.

Somos una Asociación de declarada de Utilidad Pública de personas con Espondilitis Anquilosante y Artritis Reumatoide sita en Parla (Madrid).
La Espondilitis Anquilosante es una enfermedad crónica, inflamatoria y articular del aparato locomotor con participación fundamental de la columna vertebral y ocasionalmente, de las articulaciones periféricas, además, puede dañar otros órganos.
- EDEPA tiene carácter social.
- EDEPA es una asociación de pacientes de Ayuda Mutua.
- Debemos apoyar a enfermos reumáticos, y en particular a los que padecen Espondilitis Anquilosante y Artritis Reumatoide.
- No debemos parar el crecimiento, ni las expectativas de atención Psicosocial-terapéuticas al paciente con reumatismos crónicos.
- Por similitud en las patologías y en los tratamientos.
- Por la demanda social que se nos reclama de estas personas y sus familias.
- Los pacientes que están bien informados “consiguen una mayor mejoría” que aquellos que no lo están.
- La Espondiloartritis Axial afecta a más de 900.000 personas en España
- Un diagnóstico precoz reduce el impacto de la enfermedad y sus costes asociados, entre los que destacan los laborales.
Por eso, en este Día Nacional de la Espondilitis deseamos tener repercusión suficiente además de tener una mayor cobertura social/sanitaria y de acceso a tratamientos físicos, ya que los pacientes que padecen esta enfermedad, la espondilitis Anquilosante, sufren y causan sufrimiento, a la vez que discapacidades.
