Con el objetivo de sensibilizar e informar a la población sobre las enfermedades de artritis reumatoide, artritis psoriásica, artritis idiopática juvenil y espondilo artritis, como cada año, AMDEA participa de forma activa en la campaña “Octubre mes de la artritis y de la espondiloartritis” que desde 2009 la Coordinadora Nacional de Artritis organiza con otras asociaciones de pacientes, y que comienza el 1 de octubre, Día Nacional de la Artritis.
Dando continuidad a la iniciativa que comenzó en 2015, y que se realiza desde entonces en diferentes ciudades como Madrid, Santiago de Compostela, Huesca, Valencia, Vigo y Ciudad Real, entre otras, este año también, en Móstoles, la fachada del Ayuntamiento se iluminará de color verde, como los monumentos y/o fuentes emblemáticas de diferentes ciudades de España, el próximo 1 de octubre, a las 20:00 horas.
Se trata de un homenaje para las personas que padecen estas enfermedades, y que tiene como finalidad darles más visibilidad ya que siguen siendo patologías desconocidas por la mayor parte de la población.
Este año el lema de las XV EDICIÓN DE «OCTUBRE, MES DE LA ARTRITIS Y ESPONDILOARTRITIS» es «La artritis cuando menos te la esperas«, pues la creencia de que la artritis es una enfermedad asociada a la vejez está muy extendida entre la población.
